RIP Tim Jenkins – July 2025

It was with great sadness that we heard the news our founder and long-term group member Tim Jenkins passed away in July.

Tim was a passionate supporter of writers and an established writer himself under the pen name Kenneth Clelland.

We will miss Tim dearly, and we owe him deep gratitude for all he did for the group and all of the encouragement, motivation and inspiration he provided to each of us as members.

A biography of Tim can be found on the Members page.

Conspiracy table-read with DDOS – July 2025

MVSWG collaborated once again with Dorking Dramatic and Operatic Society (DDOS) for a brilliant table-read event in The Green Room Theatre.

The group read Conspiracy, a political thriller written by Alex Birch. Afterwards, as with the previous table-reads, there was a feedback and Q&A session, this time led by Tony Earnshaw of Damn Cheek.

The Seven Trials table-read with DDOS – January 2025

Dorking Dramatic and Operatic Society (DDOS) held another table-read event in The Green Room Theatre in collaboration with MVSWG, and it was another brilliant evening. This time, it was Joanne Higginson’s stage play The Seven Trials which was read, followed by a feedback and Q&A session led by Darren Cheek of Damn Cheek. Again, the group did a fantastic job of reading the script and we are excited about the possibilities ahead with the play.
